About Mark Hill, Owner of ImageScapes:
Mark is one of those individuals who demonstrated considerable creative abilities at a very early age and consequently was given various prostigious educational opportunities offered to gifted school children in the Southern California School System. He was also invited to participate in an ongoing International Art Exchange Program with Yokohama, Japan (Sister City to San Diego, CA) while attending elementary school. In High School he won local acclaim and the prestigious honor of being selected for publication in Quest, an annual showcase magazine representing all of San Diego County for outstanding achievement in art. As a young man, Mark also worked and gained experience in the Southern California Construction Industry while putting himself through college, eventually finding constructing artificial rock features an alluring avenue by which to weave his intrinsic artistic awareness together with knowledge and abilities he'd acquired from building structural projects. When combined, those attributes and knowledge give him a skill set quite unlike anyone else, in a profession where he has excelled. Subsequently, in whatever field of effort, Mark has always utilized his conceptual insight, his eye for detail, his passion for quality in concert with a love of nature whenever possible to exercise those artistic gifts, not only to attain his goals, but to achieve them with innovatively breathtaking results. He now enjoys a highly regarded reputation as an imaginitive, quality minded consultant and creative force for his Design/Build Company, ImageScapes. Whether they be rock formation constructions or his fine art forms, they all hold the the distinction of being a Mark Hill Endeavor!
ImageScapes specializes in the creation of artificial rock formations that are truly sculptural elements, and in every sense, fine art replicating nature itself. Rather than a mere construction person attempting to be artistic, he continues to be a veritable master in this realm, seamlessly blending his vision, seen and realized through the eyes and hands of an artist, measured by many years of construction experience, carried forth through his knowledge of geological rock types and time's erosive tendencies upon them; yes, these factors combined with his innate sense for Hydrodynamics, "his ability to make water seem to magically dance across the surfaces," he fashions these Rock Sculptures in such believably dramatic ways that they defy comparison to any common pile of rock waterfalls!
Project types include: a wide variety of surrounds for swimming pools, spas, fountains, slides and waterfalls; Biological ecosystems including: lagoons, fish ponds, water gardens, lakes, streams, and rock elements for varying architectural purposes, from climbing walls to ethereal wall environs, adding captivation ambiance. These rock and waterfall features grace the covers and pages of Sunset Magazine, San Diego Magazine and Design and Style Magazine. Also, some of the finer residences in the Southern California area, as well as hotels, restaurants, zoo and theme parks throughout the region. Much of his time recently has been devoted to consulting and designing for select commercial and private clients and their architects.
